Good to hear about such great customer service, which is becoming rare these days. I am very happy with my Russell Day Long Saddle, which has served me well for 60K miles.

Now when are you going to have Mike Langford make you a custom Aux Fuel Cell?? Just wondering...

And it's my favourite.... I love Jerry Chirk's colourful language. It isn't really a romance but an adventure/mystery with a bit of romance in it. After all, Heyer did write contemporary mystery stories too. Like one of my other favourites, The Reluctant Widow, which is also both a spy story and a bit of a satire on gothic novels it doesn't entirely fit any genre.

For a real delve into the vernacular of the period, read The Toll Gate with a colourful highwayman, a Bow-Street Runner and a mystery for the hero to solve whilst protecting the heroine from the advances of a most sinister character. Heyer is almost always spot on with her research [2 minor errors in Frederica] as well as a fun read that are as immediate as when she began writing back in the 20's. The gentle humour in her work is relaxing and the mastery of her period so seamless with the story that the background just reads naturally.
